This Week in PER, it’s all about Parliamentary Questions

The Minister is scheduled to take Oral Parliamentary Questions (PQs) on Wednesday, 9th July at 9.30 a.m.  We have 40 Oral PQs tabled for the Department and the Office of Public Works.  Issues include the public service sick leave scheme; Haddington Road Agreement; progress of the Government Reform Unit in the Department; implementation

of special advisor pay cap; public procurement reform on the delivery of community services; economic growth in the context of the Department’s preparation for

Budget 2015; timetable envisaged for implementing the report of the Independent Panel on Strengthening Civil Service Accountability and Performance; Funding

for good causes from the National Lottery.

 So far, we have 47 Written PQs tabled for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday on a variety of issues ranging from: Legislation; State Boards appointments under the remit of the Department; Haddington Road Agreement; plans to revise the fees applicable to the FOI appeals process;  outsourcing in the public sector to consultants contracts.

On Thursday, the Minister will speak at a lunch for CEOs at the Institute of International and European Affairs (IIEA).

On Sunday, the Minister will attend the National Day of Commemoration 2014 at the Royal Hospital Kilmainham.
