This evening, the Minister will attend a dinner in honour of Mr Liu Yunshan, hosted by the Tánaiste. Mr Liu Yunshan is a member of the Communist Party Politburo Standing Committee and the third Chinese political leader to visit Ireland since 2012. Two-way Ireland-China trade (in goods and services) is worth more than €8 billion per annum.
The Department and OPW have 32 written PQs for this week, tabled on a range of issues such as: Government Stimulus Plan; implementation of the Construction Contracts Act 2014; Pensions and the Code of Practice for the Governance of State bodies.
Next week, the Minister is travelling to Korea to attend the 2014 United Nations Public Service Forum in Seoul. We’ll have more information on his schedule here.
