The Dáil is in session this week and the Department has a number of written Parliamentary Questions tabled on a variety of issues, ranging from, number of staff currently career break; regulations relating to new sick pay arrangements in the public service; departmental sick leave statistics; future economic stimulus programmes and State contracts. The Government Meeting is due to take place on Tuesday. Also on Tuesday Minister Howlin is scheduled to take the concluding stages of The Protected Disclosures Bill 2013 (2nd stage) the third item of Government business. If it is not completed, the Bill will recommence on Thursday, the first item of business.
The Minister will be before the D/PER Finance Committee on Wednesday. The Minister will meet and brief the Committee on progress achieved to date in the context of Public Service Reform and the objectives and targets outlined in the new Reform Plan, followed by a question and answer session with members.Secretary General Watt will attend the third in a series of seven “Town Hall” meetings which are being held with civil servants across the country. These meetings seek to discuss the future of the Civil Service and hear ideas on how the Civil Service can be improved.
